MIF to invest in Robin Radar

Robin Radar, the leading avian radar company in the emerging market of bird monitoring for airports and wind parks, has secured significant funding from INKEF Capital and Mainport Innovation Fund partners Schiphol, KLM, Rabobank and Delft University of Technology.

Robin Radar develops radar systems to monitor bird migrations on a 24/7 basis. The radar systems are being deployed at airports and wind parks who benefit from detailed insights in bird migration patterns. Both the amount of passenger flights as well as the amount of birds is increasing on a global scale. Modern civil airports do everything they can to maintain flight safety. The investment will be used for further development of the radar systems and to set up international sales and distribution. For more information about Robin Radar: www.robinradar.com

Launching customer Schiphol Airport

Robin Radar has recently won numerous international tender application procedures like the one at Schiphol Airport.

Jos Nijhuis, CEO of Schiphol Airport: “With this technology Robin meets the growing need for more accurate and real-time information about movements of (large) birds in the vicinity of the airport. In January, we begin a one year trail to gain experience with Robin and its effectiveness at Schiphol Airport.”
